Cressida Bonas wedding dress: Harry’s ex wore £389 Whistles dress for lockdown ceremony
express– The actress wrote in the Spectator about the big day. She said: “Four days before the big day marched up and down Oxford Street on the hunt for a wedding dress.
“Finding nothing, I remembered an old Whistles dress I once wore for a James Arthur music video.”
Cressida wore the Guinevere Wedding Dress from the brand, one worn fairly often by Kate Middleton. The dress has a high neck and is covered in pretty lace.
Whistles said of the dress: “This elegant dress is a beautiful choice for modern brides.
“The cotton embroidered tulle design features a playful tiered skirt, a high frill neck, and a cut-out detail on the lower back.
“Modern and feminine, this limited edition design will ensure you make a show-stopping entrance on your big day.”
Cressida wore the dress when she stared in singer James Arthur’s music video Naked.
Cressida and her husband, Harry Wentworth-Stanley, rode away from their wedding at Cowdray Park, in Midhurst, West Sussex, on 27 July on horses.
However, the new bride’s horse wasn’t keen on her choice of dress.
Cressida wrote: “At first my horse looked at me nervously.
“He didn’t seem keen on my dress.”
Cressida and her husband Harry announced their engagement in August 2019.
The blonde actress, who was Prince Harry’s last serious girlfriend before he met wife Meghan Markle, said “yes” on a holiday in Nantucket, US.
She showed off a rare ring with rubies and diamonds made by Bear Brooksbank.
Alexandra Mitchell gemmologist Prestige Pawnbrokers from Channel 4’s Posh Pawn told Express.co.uk: “Cressida Bonas’ Art Deco inspired target ring is a refreshing departure from the classic single stone engagement ring.
“Adding a splash of colour, a circle of sumptuous rubies is set in between the outer halo of diamonds and the striking centre stone. Mounted on a yellow gold shank, which adds to the vintage feel of this bespoke ring made by Bear Brooksbank, the shape looks to be either round or hexagonal.
“An impressive centre stone, which I would estimate at 2.5cts +, would price this ring over £100,000.”
Cressida’s husband’s stepfather is the Queen’s cousin, so he has royal connections, much like Cressida’s ex. He works as a property surveyor for Savills.
In other royal related news, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have signed a deal with Spotify for a new podcast.
