Chelsea want striker in January as Maurizio Sarri gives up on Alvaro Morata
Chelsea will attempt to sign a new striker in the January transfer window as Maurizio Sarri has lost patience with Alvaro Morata.
Morata had a stunning start in England following a £65million switch from Real Madrid to Stamford Bridge, scoring eight goals in his opening nine matches under Antonio Conte last season.
However, the Spain international has badly struggled since his early feats despite a consistent run of games under Conte last campaign and the Italians successor, Sarri, this term.
Morata has managed only two league goals under Sarri and the Blues are ready to spend big on a new forward this winter to ease the pressure on Eden Hazard and mount a title challenge.

According to the Sun, Chelsea are desperate for a genuine 20-goal a season striker and are preparing to make a sizeable offer. Sarri and the board are in agreement that Morata may never be the consistent goalscorer they need.
Chelsea have been unable to fill the hole left by Diego Costa after the Spaniards falling out with Conte and subsequent return to Atletico Madrid.
The likes of Edin Dzeko, Robert Lewandowski and Gonzalo Higuain were all linked with Chelsea in the summer but only Kepa Arrizabalaga, Jorginho, Rob Green and Mateo Kovacic arrived through the doors.
Sarri, who worked with Higuain at Napoli, admitted earlier this month that he misses the Argentinian goal machine.
Asked if he wanted Higuain in the summer, Sarri told Corriere dello Sport: Whatever response I give will be considered wrong and put words into my mouth.
All I can say is that I feel Gonzalo left Napoli too soon. If he had stayed for another season, I think we couldve been in a condition to win.

Higuain was a part of the fantastic mechanism we created, we understood each other so well.
It was perfect synchronicity and the regrets will probably stick with us.
I miss Higuain a great deal. I miss him because hell keep scoring goals until the day he dies. He is a goal machine, a systematic and automatic jackpot.
