Manchester United legend Gary Pallister has branded Romelu Lukaku disrespectful for talking up a move to Juventus in the future.

Lukaku, 25, is without a goal in six games for United this season and recent reports have suggested that the Belgian is frustrated with a lack of progress under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

Eyebrows were further raised earlier this week when Lukaku admitted that he hoped to play in Serie A later on in his career.

Asked about a move to Italy in the future, he told Gazzetta dello Sport: Why not? I hope it happens.

Juve have a great project in place and they just keep going. Every year they try to get stronger. Without doubt they are one of the two-three best teams in Europe.

Ive not heard that Lukaku story regarding Juventus but I think its disrespectful at times if you start mentioning other clubs when youre actually contracted to the club youre at, the former defender told 888Sport.

If its in your mind Ive got no problem with that but to put it in print Ive got a problem with that.

At a time when a club is under real pressure to have their leading goal-scorer say hed like to move abroad – if thats what he has done – is not the ideal scenario.

Paul Scholes doubts that United will ever win the Premier League with Lukaku as their leading striker.

Im just not sure you are ever going to win the league with a goal scorer like him, he told ESPN earlier this week.

I dont think his play outside of the box is good enough. Im not sure if he works hard enough but hes still a young man who has done well and scored a lot of goals.

Hes quick and strong, but Lukaku is one of many United players who look like theyre short of confidence.

I dont think he realises how good he can be, but he needs help because who else can play centre-forward at United now?
