Thibaut Courtois names the worlds top-three goalkeepers – and snubs David de Gea
Thibaut Courtois is widely considered to be one of the finest goalkeepers on the planet – so he should have a pretty good idea who are the best stoppers in the world.
The former Chelsea goalkeeper secured a transfer to European champions Real Madrid this summer, but modestly left himself off his list of the top-three glovesman.
However, he also sensationally left Manchester Uniteds David de Gea out, while he also snubbed the man who replaced him at Stamford Bridge for a club-record fee: Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Liverpools mega-money summer signing Alisson Becker has made the cut, though, joining Atletico Madrids Jan Oblak and Barcelona No. 1 Marc-Andre ter Stegen in Courtois elite list.
They are all great goalkeepers, but I do not know who is the best, he said.
I could not go for one.
It depends on the defence and also on the whole team, I think I have already shown that I am at a high level.
