Denis Suarez eager to reignite career under Unai Emery at Arsenal
Denis Suarez is pushing for Barcelona to let him join Arsenal and is eager to take on a bigger role under Unai Emery, according to reports in Spain.
Rumours emerged over the weekend claiming Arsenal were closing in on a £14million deal for the Spanish schemer, while he was omitted from Barcas squad to face Getafe at the last minute on Sunday.
Now Spanish newspaper Sport claim Suarez has his heart set on a reunion with Emery and a move to north London is the only possibility in January.
There has been mooted interested from the likes of Chelsea and AC Milan, but Suarez is prepared to wait until the summer if a move to Arsenal cannot be agreed now.
Suarez realises his chances will continue to be limited under Ernesto Valverde – he has only made two substitute appearances in La Liga this season – and feels he must leave Camp Nou to get the bigger role he craves.

He knows Emery well, having enjoyed his breakout season on loan at Sevilla under the current Arsenal boss, while Gunners chief Raul Sanllehi twice signed Suarez when he was at Barca.
Emery has made no secret of his desire to sign a winger, which is what he classifies Suarez as having used the 25-year-old on the right and left wings when they were at Sevilla.
The report from Sport says talks between Arsenal and Barca will ramp up this week, and the north Londoners are hoping to bring Suarez in on an initial loan with the option to buy permanently in the summer.
Speaking about Emery back in 2015, Suarez told UEFAs official website: He is one of the best coaches around. He really gets the best out of us.
He always talks to you, both in good moments – to prevent you being distracted – and bad, to help you recover. The way he treats players is exceptional.
